Has anyone tried that Almay foundation that supposedly changes to match your skin tone?

I’m on a crazy search to find a PedEgg. I went to Target but they had only the refills and they were on an end cap in the kitchen section. I guess because it has the word “egg” in the name they assume it goes with kitchen stuff? Rite Aid didn’t have any either. Next up, CVS.

Da Vinci wears a Tassi tooYes, this picture is of my parents’ dog wearing a Tassi. Don’t worry, he didn’t mind.

To the person who got here via this search, wow that sucks.

Congratulations to Nanette and Brent on the birth of their gorgeous little girl!

In TV news: What do you guys think of The Amazing Race thus far? I’m enjoying it, but I still don’t have any favorites. And how awesome is How I Met Your Mother?

I just realized I never addressed the taking the blog private thing. I had no idea so many of you would want to read, I am flattered and kinda shocked. I’ve decided to keep it public for now, but some stuff just won’t be talked about, and there may not be posts every weekend or Thursday. Can you tell I have no idea what I want to do with it?

Tomorrow afternoon I’m heading down to San Diego to join my family for Yom Kippur. I hope everyone has an easy and meaningful fast! Shana tova.

This week’s question: If you had one day to be a tourist in your own city, what would you do?

How weird, because I see the Ped Egg absolutely EVERYWHERE! I had wanted to get one when they advertised it on TV, and then I forgot about it. But now that I keep seeing it, my interest is back on. Maybe… I’m just squeamish, and the peeling of skin irks me a bit, as if I’m going to get too much off and hit bone. As if…

If I were a tourist in the city that I live in now (in Connecticut), I’d do nothing. I’d just stay in the house.

But if I were to go back home (Montreal), I’d do all sorts of stuff — go to Old Montreal, go to the museums, go to the mountain (Montreal is built AROUND a mountain — it’s really cool), and the list goes on and on…

Have a very easy fast, Hilary. Enjoy the family time too. (Your parents’ dog is adorable!)

As for the blog — private vs. public — I’ve got no advice (and no blog of my own) aside from do what feels right for you.

I live in the most touristy city (NYC) and I haven’t really done that much touristy stuff. I’ve been talking about going to the Statue of Liberty so I guess that is what I would do. Hope you have an easy fast on YK.

I’ve never used the Almay foundation but Lancome does one like that and my mom uses it… it’s pretty cool!

Hmm…I bought my Ped Egg in Bed, Bath and Beyond (or maybe Linens n’ Things?)!

Bed Bath & Beyond has a TON of Ped Eggs (which are faboo, btw) right as you walk in the door of their Hollywood store. Seriously, it’s like a giant wall of ‘em, blue and pink ones.

I am right with you on the blog thing, and also don’t know what I’m doing. But I think you’re more popular than I am. ;)

I have used the Almay foundation, and it does actually match your skin. I was turned on to it by my makeup artist friend. For me it was a little heavy, mostly because I never wear foundation, but now that I have a super professional job I need to wear something. I have now switched to bare escentuals because that really feels like I am wearing nothing.

Don’t get me started. Every weekend is planned as if I’m a tourist. I can’t get enough of this town and I’ve lived here my whole life.

CVS totally has them. At least the one at Cahuenga and Yucca did a few days ago. They weren’t in an aisle - but on the displays that run perpendicular to the aisles in the middle of the store. As for why I remember this information I have no idea.

I’d go to Covent garden. It’s the one stop that I’ve never even come down at ever and it’s supposed to be fabulous

there are a few things in LA I still need to do as a tourist. I sadly haven’t yet been to the new lacma building. and I really need to go to the eames house in the palisades. and I need to see watts tower, even though its under renovation. see - I have a long list.

have an easy fast.

i live less than a mile from two historic colonial sites that i have never seen because they are less than a mile away. if they were further, they’d be a destination instead of part of the neighborhood and i’d have seen them by now.

I’ve heard nothing but horrific reviews of the Ped Egg — apparently it chews up your feet like a cheese grater. Don’t do it! Buy yourself a nice pumice stone and/or those fab socks from Bliss (try Sephora store or website) that you put on with thick cream instead (the socks have some sort of rubbery lining that makes the cream really soak in.)

I was going to send you to BB&B for the PedEgg, at least that’s where I have seen them in New England. I totally want one, but my husband things they are gross.

HIMYM is rocking my world this season. I am also enjoying TAR. Do you watch Big Bang Theory? I really like it too.

My “city” is a small town of 12,000 and I have done most of the “touristy” things. I would like to go to the new Grafton Village Cheese factory and back to the local chocolate factory.

Ped-eggs are all over the CVS in Burbank, in the nail aisle and bins of them near the check out. They even have pink ones out this month for breast cancer recognition.

It’s easy. I’d go to Churchill Downs for the races. If it was during the months of April and October I’d go to Keeneland.
