Thursday Things

I’m heading down to SD this afternoon (no, not for Comic-Con). Instead, I’ll be enjoying a delicious birthday dinner with my family tonight and the rest of the weekend will be spent either baking for or attending a baby shower and a bridal shower. You don’t even want to know how much stuff I will be baking. Thankfully, when my parents redid their kitchen they put in double convection ovens–what a time saver!

Work is kicking my butt and stressing me out big time. I have so much stuff to do, my boss is out of the country, and I have to give a presentation to the new VPs next week. Yesterday I had a minor freak out and cried as I was on my way downstairs for lunch. Is it obvious I don’t handle stress well?
- - -
In TV news, I think Nicole is the mole, anyone with me? And The Next Food Network Star is still horribly blah but I can’t stop watching. I watched about 20 minutes of Date My Ex and then I had to turn it off, anyone else see it?
- - -
The other day on my way to work I was listening to the 80s channel on XM and this song called Strokin’ came on and I literally laughed out loud through the entire song. How have I never heard this before? Here’s the video if you want to watch it. Hopefully you’ll be sas-ified!
- - -
If you haven’t already done so, enter to win a Tassi!
- - -
Last night I was supposed to meet Jen and a bunch of people at Rush Street for happy hour. Instead, I packed clothes and a ton of my baking stuff then proceeded to work on my presentation. Happy hour vs. presentation. I lose.

In other news, today is my birthday and I’m leaving early. Woohoo!

Happiest of happy days on your birthday, Hilary!!! Have a fabulous dinner and weekend!

About the job stress, I’m like you — severe meltdown. I try to remember my father’s lectures, though: “You can only do what you can do. And it’s not like it’s brain surgery — nobody’s going to die if you’re late or mess up.” Yeah, I know… it never worked for me either. Just do what you can, and try not to let it get to you. Especially on YOUR day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Get home fast, I am stressing out about all the stuff we have to do. I have been to the market, trader joe’s, and henrey’s too many times to count.

I loved DATE MY EX. You didn’t watch Real Housewives of OC, their relationship is so f-ed up.

Oh gotta go wrap your present. Bye xoxox

Happy birthday! You share a birthday with Amelia Earhart (1897 - 1937?) and several others. I hope it goes well! (And tomorrow is my mother’s birthday.)

What to do about job stress? Well, you can get a better job, or you can get a job that pays you better for the amount of stress you are getting, or you can meditate a lot. Just don’t attack anyone at work with a fish. Illigitimis non es carborundum.

All the best!

Happy, happy birthday to you! According to the LA Times horoscope… Today’s birthday (July 24): There is nothing common about this year as you lead yourself and others to accomplish one worthy purpose after another. Your spectacular talent for interpersonal dealings helps you in love and work over the next four weeks. You’ll be appointed to a position, perhaps by popular vote. Gemini and Pisces adore you. Your lucky numbers are 8, 10, 4, 39 and 16.

Enjoy and celebrate big!

PS: Did you know you were born on Utah’s Birthday? It’s a State Holiday! Nobody worked, except the non-mormons, of course. We celebrated with a parade and everything! Fireworks! Handcarts! Weird people dressed as Pioneers! All for your birthday, my darling.
