Weekend Stuff

Although the week began with totally ridiculous drama (the friend I referred to in this post accused me of, among other things, “trashing” her in my blog), it ended with quite a lot of relaxation!

Near 15th Street in Del MarI went down to San Diego early on Friday, thus beating the traffic and even made it in time to have lunch with my parents near my dad’s office. Then I spent a lot of time in my pajamas, watched TV, read a book that I don’t want to end (book post coming soon, I promise, Dawn!), baked low fat chocolate chunk muffinsLow Fat Chocolate Chunk Muffins, saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall in the theater and Reservation Road on DVD, and just chilled with my family. This morning we walked into downtown Del Mar and had a delicious Mother’s Day brunch at Sbicca. I’m now back in LA and for some reason, feel like I can still use another weekend.

The only weekend bummer was that Bethany was up north celebrating Elise’s 30th birthday (happy birthday Elise!) so she couldn’t join us. But have no fear–the annual classic car show and Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles for Father’s Day is coming up soon enough.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. I love you mom!

Happy mother’s day to Hil’s mom (and all the other moms out there)!

Maybe I’m missing something, but how exactly does your friend think you trashed her? Or maybe she is projecting?

Knowing the other side of the (”trashing the friend”) story, I think the whole thing was really immature and selfish. To be honest, the Brit would’ve called if you hadn’t gotten all nutso on him. And how do I know? Because he told me.

I don’t get it. H didn’t mention the Brit or say anything about a friend. Sounds like Ella is tryig to start trouble.

p.s. Who is Ella anyway?

Stacy: Not sure. I didn’t even mention her name or quasi-anonymous blog or any specifics, so I’m not sure where “trashing” came from.

Amy: Ella just so happens to be friends with my former-friend and brought up the Brit (whom btw, I did not go “nutso” on) in an attempt to hurt my feelings. I have never met her and have read her blog exactly twice.

I was debating writing about the whole situation then decided it just makes my head spin too much.

How was Reservation Road? I really wanted to see it but missed it…worth a rental? Remember…I LOVE me some Mark Ruffalo :)

I’m not even going to comment on the “trashing” (and now Ella) because you know my take on this. You did nothing wrong.

You’re killing me, Hil, what’s the book you’re reading that you don’t want to end? I have a pile of 6 or 7 books to read and I hope one of them is like that. Those are so few and far between.

Happy belated Mother’s day to Hilary’s Mom!!!!

JAB, did it even have a theatrical release? I don’t remember it being in the theaters at all! It was good–very suspenseful yet unfortunately quite predictable at times. Mark Ruffalo didn’t look as cute as he sometimes does though.

Dawn, I’m reading the new Jennifer Weiner book and it is so good!

I just started reading your blog but I have to say I find it more than slighlty immature that the friend of the person you have kindly not mentioned by name or blog felt the need to make it personal. I think Ella must be in junior high.

JAB- I have some Mark R gossip. I will email you in a bit.

Ella- no need to bring up the situation…Hil didn’t blog about it and I think you should keep your feelings to yourself. And please don’t call my sister NUTSO…that is so junior high. Name calling on a blog? were you the kinda girl to make a slam book also?

ENOUGH!! Ella and friend of ella, leave Hilary alone. I am very familiar with both the text message to Brit boy and the subsequent IMs and emails and this blog. (1) the text had nothing to do with “trashed friend.” In fact, “trashed friend” is making herself be more important than she really is and is creating drama. (2) I did not think the text message was a smart thing to do and I told Hilary that at the time and whenever we’ve discussed this insane subject. But bottom line - it was her mistake to make. We have all done silly dumb things where dating is concerned. The text message mentioned “trashed friend” in the most harmless of ways but “trashed friend” clearly felt the need to be in the center of things and blow all of this nonsense out of control. (3) “trashed friend” was not trashed. Hilary never mentioned anyone by name or gave enough revealing information so that people could figure it out. And she didn’t say anything bad. Hilary was just venting because, hello - this is a blog and that is what people do. (4) Ella - friend of “trashed friend” leave it alone. This is all so stupid it borders on embarrassing. There are people starving in the world, bloodshed in Darfur, and a junta stopping aid to cyclone victims. Is any of this really important?

Curious about what books you’re reading! I need a new influx of good book suggestions.

Had a wonderful Mother’s day, albeit, we did miss Bethany. But we had a very relaxing and fun weekend. However, I am having trouble with my self control when it comes to those yummy muffins you made. They are so-o-o good, and completely legal if you eat one….not a million!!!! Thanks Hil, I love you. And, love my new cook book.

So happy you came down. Davinci misses you………
me too!!

Love, mom

Go Bethany….defending your sister. Nice to see family band together.

Thanks to Amy’s link, I visited Ella’s blog. My eyes glazed over after 2.5 sentences. So many blog, so few can actually tell a story. Hilary — you’re one of the few.

Sorry to use your blog to communicate to your sister…but email me the Mark R. gossip. Did you know Matty was named after his character on “13 Going On 30?” Silly, I know.

Props to you Hilary for being the bigger person. I think Ella’s comment made it painfully obvious as to the kidn of person she is. Whatever went down, you did not name names or details, and I think your friend should have appreciated that. And Ella had absolutely no reason butting into something that is none of her busienss.
