Weekend Stuff

This weekend, I:

  • Made even more cupcakes, this time for a friend’s housewarming party.
  • Walked, twice!
  • Met a cute boy with a cute dog while waiting for a walk signal to change. (I think they were on their way to Runyon.) He said he’s seen me walking before and asked for my phone number. I figured why not. Of course, he had to memorize it so I highly doubt I’ll hear from him, but it was flattering nonetheless. Especially considering I was sans makeup, in a baseball cap, and sweating.
  • Slept in through my WW meeting. Oops.
  • Really Dedicated Simpsons Fans In BurbankAttended said housewarming party where the cupcakes were a huge hit and I saw people I haven’t seen in years.
  • Drove past the Burbank KWIK-E-MART during one of my two trips to Burbank and Glendale.
  • Ran a million and one errands, did laundry, etc.
  • Chipped a front tooth trying to open a bottle.
  • Slept a ton.

Boring, I know.

In other news, I’m making a list of things I’d like to do this summer. So far I have:

  • Go to more Dodger games. I already have free awesome, awesome seats and Dodger Dollars to an upcoming weekend game, I just need to figure out who I’m taking.
  • Go to a Cinespia screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I’ve never been!
  • Go back to the Bowl.
  • Take a cooking class.
  • Go to the batting cages.
  • Go to Disneyland. I haven’t been since The Ex and I got in a huge fight there years and years ago. Time for new memories.
  • Go on multiple dates with a guy who doesn’t play games and calls the following day to ask me out again.
  • Take a weekend road trip.

If you want to do any of the above (and um, I know you), let me know!

And finally, my birthday is coming up and instead of doing an orchestrated thing with friends like last year, I sorta just want to see a movie or do something chill after work (yeah, it’s on a weekday). Does this mean I’m getting old?

RE: Birthday

No, keeping it low key doesn’t mean you’re getting old. Unless 28 is old, then I’m with you.

Re: Doing stuff

I wish I lived closer to you, I’d pay your way into Disneyland. I’ve never been! Disney World, yes, many times.

Re: Tooth

Ouch and I’m sorry! I hope that your dentist is able to fix it.

Beth, dad can’t go the day I have tickets. Are you still in SD or are you back up here?

Dawn, my birthday is in a couple weeks. Can you tell I’m thrilled to be turning 33?

Hilary!!

I will Absolutely take A Cooking Class, go to The Bowl (there are a few Classical Nights coming up that I plan to go to Solo unless someone joins me), and go to Disneyland with you!!! But, also, Michael and I Love Baseball, so if you would like the two of us to join you at Any game, let us know! Michael will play Wingman and introduce you to A Nice Baseball Loving Boy. Also, we Love movies at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Just, we prefer Scary Ones. I can’t figure out Why I Should See Fastimes At Ridgemont High in A Cemetery.

xoxo,
TDR

P.S. Thank you for bringing Your Cupcakes to Our BBQ!! They were SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!

Hilary — my next birthday (granted, it’s 10 months away), I’ll be turning 43. As in FORTY. THREE. So you’re still very young. Enjoy it. 33’s a great number.

Name the date of the big 33 so we can all send you e-cards. :)

I find when you plan a big event for a birthday you will end up being disappointed in some way. My best birthday’ have always been the mellow ones where I just have dinner with my family or a good friend.

All of us cute single men walk our dogs in Runyan. It’s the place to pick off a good one. No dog necessary but recommended. Even if it isn’t yours. Exercising a friend’s dog can be presented as real loving dogs like the best cute single men do.

When you’re single you do reach the point that you don’t want to plan something for your birthday… again.

Go see SUSPIRIA at the Cemetery on July 21st. You probably haven’t heard of it, but it’s one of the scariest movies ever made. I haven’t been to a screening there in years since it’s always jam-packed, but this one is worth it!

Jeremy and Randi, unless I have someone’s shoulder to bury my face in during the movie, I’m not a scary movie fan.

love going to dodger games - haven’t been to any this year tho. always up for it.

the cemetery is too popular now. used to go all the time a few years back but now its too crowded. we were thwarted this past sat.

but the bowl is always magical. always.

I took a cooking class at a place in culver city a few years ago. it was a hanukah gift from C and we took the class together. he was one of two men in the class. it was a lot of fun - it was at a place called the new school of cooking. I have another gift certificate for sur la table and I’m debating between taking a class or buying expensive knives.

I agree that low-key bdays can be the best. And yes, it definitely is a sign ;) My kids (the 7 and 4 year old) think it is strange and sad that grown-ups don’t have parties with bounce houses.

Maybe they are right ;)

The Bowl is so great. I was reminded of how much I love the Bowl when we were at the Ford Amphitheatre a couple of weeks ago.

Hilary, were you opening beer bottles with your teeth again? When are you going to teach me that trick?
