Ask…

Here’s the thing. My life is pretty boring and uneventful at the moment which means I have nothing exciting to write about. And I see you guys checking back daily (and um, some of you hourly) for new content, and I have none. So, this situation presents the perfect opportunity for another, long overdue, edition of Ask…

You know the rules: You ask me a question. I answer it. Post it in the comments or if you’re shy, send me an email. I’ll answer the questions later in the week.

You can read previous questions and answers here.

Can I get 40 nickels for a bag of potato chips?

“and um, some of you hourly”
I’m totally busted! :)
This is what happens when I have to be totally motivated to do my work (write) but I’m not …so I look for something else to do so I don’t think about my lack of oomph. And I also pray that some word or subject on a blog will get my brain in gear.

Anyway.

Ask. A question. Hmmmmm. Seeing as you live in LA, do you ever see celebrities? If so, who? (Ironically, I’m so out of the TV and movie loop, if you name anyone, I probably won’t know who they are.)

Grrrr…It didn’t take my comment.

Guilty of hourly btw. I have to wait on code to compile and execute or for stored procedures to finish. Gosh and then I just click on my favorites…sometimes I forget that I’ve visited. I really need to use my feed reader.

Anywho…

If you could go to one famous event (political, social, etc), which even would it be and why?

Great — now I’ll be checking every 10 minutes to see if you’ve answered my question. And to see what everyone else has asked. And your answers. Why don’t I just STAY here!?! ;-)

I may be guilty of hourly. I rapidly click through about a dozen favorite sites a few times a day — or maybe more — looking for new content; often while hanging on the phone. Probably not the most productive of habits, but better than smoking, right? My question: what did you name your baking business?

My question is: can you tell us *anything* about your work? Even in very general terms?

My question: which do you prefer - cookies or cupcakes? (That is, making them…)

Is there hope for someone who cannot make even the simplest of recipes such as jello? (I kid you not, I tried to make jello following the rapid recipe with ice, and it never hardened)
Do you have recipes for dummies? Better yet, do you ship cupcakes and such to Boston?

I’m curious to hear your answers to the many questions above!

What is the worst baked good you have ever tasted?

Did you move to LA because you wanted to work in entertainment, or did you move just because you like LA?

Does it feel like home here?

Do you ever imagine you’ll stop blogging? If so, why would that be? (I think about this one a lot, as I’m approaching the decade mark this year!)

I know, I ask the easy questions!

When you say that a date came up to your place for “smooching,” what does that entail?

Julie — me too! That’s why I’m now here 7539853958342 times per day instead of just, um, hourly. ;-) :)

My question is: what web tool do you use so that you know who is reading your blog (and when)?! I use sitemeter and google analytics but it doesn’t give me all that much info. It seems like you have a much better grasp on where exactly your audience is located!

I’ve got my usual grab bag of strange, quirky but hopefully provocative questions;

1.) What’s the loudest, strangest or most unusual recording you own? (Should be a commercially available one).

2.) What’s the strangest, most unusual or rare item of clothing or accessory you own or something you carry with you on a regular basis in your purse or pocket?

3.) What’s in your ‘earthquake’/emergency kit at home?

4.) What’s the strangest source of news you listen to or read on a semi-regular basis?

5.) Any line on when AG Abu Gonzales will resign or be ‘gone’? (I say it’ll be much longer & painfully drawn out than anyone suspects).

6.) Favorite Nuts to eat or bake with?

7.) Highest predicted temp for May in LA, your guess?

8.) When will we finally see the Northwest passage open in the Arctic?

9.) Any guess on when we’re likely to leave Iraq?

10.) Should any President be able to hire & fire his AG’s at will?

Just wondering… Cheers & Good Luck! ‘VJ’

Ok….

Have you purchased any cute things lately?

What did you have for lunch?

What is your favorite drink?

How many keys on your key chain?

Favorite color?

Favorite kind of cupcake?

Are you a KCRW subscriber?

Have you ever been to Joans on Third?

What did you have for dinner?

That’s all I can think of!! Thanks for letting me play!
