Site Issues

My site is getting bombarded with thousands of comment spams, so there’s a chance the site will be down until I get this issue resolved. If anyone knows of any Wordpress plugins to help manage the spam, please let me know. I’m already using Spam Karma. Thanks!

Spam Karma is my lifeblood. Every month or so, I get hit with a dozen spams, which I have to manually remove. Luckily, Spam Karma 2 makes it easy to do so!

Are you using Askimet as well? That works pretty good for me and it’s effortless.

Actually I didn’t describe the problem accurately. Spam Karma is catching all of the spam and putting it in the Spam Harvest folder. However, there is just so much of it at once that it is causing all of these “processes” and it takes down my site. So I don’t know how to prevent it from doing that.

I use Akismet on my wordpress blog, and it works pretty well. I’ve never gotten comment spam, so I second Derek’s recommendation.

Thanks for the suggestions, here’s what happened. I posted about the issue on the Wordpress support forum and was told to download the Bad Behavior plugin. Apparently, that plugin stops the spam from even getting into Akismet or Spam Karma. (It blocks the spam totally.) Anyway, since I installed it, I’ve had like no spam…it’s awesome!
