Weekend Stuff

I’ve been fighting off a cold all weekend, so I decided to just lay low and hopefully let the Airborne do its thing. GougèresThat meant watching lots of Next, Law & Order, and my first Netflix movie–Napolean Dynomite. I also managed to run a million errands, do four loads of laundry, clean out a cabinet containing stuff that hasn’t been touched since I moved into my apartment nine years ago, move my baking blog to it’s new home, and try a new recipe. Speaking of baking, there will be another chance to win a dozen cupcakes or cookies sometime soon, so stay tuned.

In other weekend news, I bought a Cuisinart (it comes with a VHS tape to watch, so funny), Eve is now officially my neighbor, and the new Jdate boy called me just like he said he would and we made a dinner date for Thursday. (He also invited me to a party he is throwing at his parents’ beach house for July 4th, but my body is far from second date bathing suit ready.)

And finally, I have to work tomorrow. Total suckage.

Good call turning down the beach house party. It’s a bit early to be going to his party and meeting friends. Better to go out for a month or so first.

Well, at least now I know I won’t be the only person working tomorrow…

I too am writing from work. Consolation: nobody else is at work. Thus: guilt-free blogging and blog-surfing.

I just discovered Next this weekend. It’s my new guilty pleasure show.

I am working hard to be ready to put on a bathing suit (maybe by next April), but your food blog is too high in calories. I think I gain a pound just looking at your cupcakes.

It only took me 12 minutes (instead of my normal 30) to get to work today. I seriously think my company is the only one in my office building working today.

I’m working too! Not only am I working my office job all day, I get to teach a college course from 6 to 9 pm.

At least I’m not the only one at work today. Boo for all of our employers.

I Worked, too! Well, one class only had one kid, so we watched The Wizard Of Oz and Sang Along. I don’t know if that can technically be called Work. But, it only took me 15 minutes to get to Pasadena this morning. It usually takes me about 45 minutes. And, I am home now.

BTW, I think you could have gone to that party if you wanted to. There is no reason to say no to a party that a boy has invited you to. Nor is it odd to meet his friends. But, I don’t think that is the reason you said, No, anyhow.

Sadly, just a coworker who is apparently as bored here at the office as I.

I would’ve been working; it took some arm-twisting to get today off. Glad you got so much accomplished over the weekend, and yay for your new neighbor!

Is anyone ever REALLY ready for a bathing suit occasion? I remember watching a Sports Illustrated swimsuit models documentary where they talked about fasting, drinking water and eating celery for a week or two before a swimsuit photo shoot.

Maybe we can all just lighten up on the body image, and ENJOY surf and sand (or pool) and the company we keep. I think we’ve figured out people come in all shapes and sizes, and that we are NOT candidates for the cover of S.I.

Get better, web friend. And then party in your swimsuit like nobody’s watching!

Just you wait. It will be so nice to find a guy who gets lost in your eyes and the conversation — who doesn’t give a rip if you’re ripped or flubbery. (I’m waitin’ with ya!)

Yay for him calling! I think it’s good you didn’t go, although not cause of the bathing suit thing!!! You know the rules stuff, it can’t hurt to let him wait a little.

I’m so sorry about this weekend, Saturday ended up being such a waste of a day. I promise to be back soon though…

Boo Rules and other B.S. like that! Nobody wants to play games (sorry Elise). I just don’t buy into any of that.
A nice, normal guy doesn’t want head games, he just wants to chill out with you. And I think Geri is right on the ball here, beautiful people are comfortable in themselves, that’s all there is to it, and you are so cool, intersting and confident you should be having a great time!

Cheers.

i probably would’ve turned it down more for the parents being there thing than the swimsuit issue. either way the fact that he called and made another dinner date = yay!
