Thursday Things

Spoke to CL Guy on Monday–date number five (for those of you following along at home), is this Saturday. I’m going to suggest doing something, like Groundlings or UCB, rather than just dinner. And I’m really hoping to get flowers, but that might be wishful thinking.

And in other dating related news, I emailed three guys on Jdate this week–all of them have read my emails and none have responded. Not even a thanks, but I don’t think we’re a good match email. Whatever.

My baking blog is up! I’ve copied over most of the recipes and hope to do the remaining ones this weekend. By the way, I need help with a name for the blog–any ideas?

In TV news, I still think How I Met Your Mother is the funniest show on at the moment–I love Barney, he cracks me up. Also, I enjoyed the premiere ep of the new season of The Amazing Race, although the two older sisters drove me nuts the entire two hours. What’d you guys think?

Things that are annoying me this week: The stupid video on the top of my AIM buddy list. The annoying carpet commercial I see every morning on NBC while I’m getting ready for work–you know, the one where the daughter is shocked her mom got her new carpet the next day and both of the men just sit there and don’t talk. The traffic in Century City now that we can’t turn from Century Park East onto Santa Monica Blvd. (and vice versa).

re: the video on AOL Instant Messenger, I’ve switched to using Gaim. It works with AIM and some other protocols (including Yahoo and MSN), and is completely ad-free.

OH MY GOD!! I see the exact same commercial every morning and it ticks me off too! How, on opposite coasts can that really be possible??

I see that commercial every day too! I thought this week’s ep of How I Met Your Mother was BRILLIANT, chronicling how Barney became Barney, even showed the origin of “legendary!”

Don’t worry about the Jdate boys. The point is that you had the “cojones” (insert hand motions here) to email the guys and take the initiative, it’s your life! Who cares that they didn’t respond-it’s very clearly their loss!

Barney is brilliant! I loved the ponytail, the tie dye t-shirt and the please come back to me video at the keyboard. Now we can sympathize with why he needs to SUIT UP!

i ended up here... how?

i got here when i searched on matisyahu. go figure.

anyway, i highly recommend trillian as an IM client. not only can you do AIM, within the same app you can chat with your Y!M and MSN friends as well.

and the main reason i responded? an idea for your baking blog name. bare with me, it is corny… bakelava (bake-LA-va).

eh, sounds better in my head.

I vote for miniture golf for the date. It’s always good to check out a potential mate’s handicap.

I love How I Met Your Mother! As for the baking blog, I’m going to humiliate myself before your blog readers and tell you the first 3 things that popped into my head:

“Batter chatter”, “Batter patter” and, “Let me eat cake”
