Pre-Vacation Things

Dating: A guy I chatted with at the young professionals Sukkot dinner I attended asked Annabel Lee for my phone number. I’ll let ya know if anything happens.

And in Jdate news, oh wait, there is no Jdate news. Unless you count the emails from friends and relatives of the Nigerian guy asking for money/help.

Music: I picked up The Leevees CD and it is absolutely hysterical. I’m looking forward to them opening for the Barenaked Ladies next month.

Question: My sister is looking for pumpkin ravioli. Anyone know where she can get it besides at Via Veneto? [ed. note: What is Via Veneto? And what about Trader Joe's? Or Cheebo?]

Blog: If my blog is down, it’s not my fault. My once-wonderful-now-not-so-good hosting company seems to be having server issues and causing weird errors to my domain. Please let me know if you see an error as I’m trying to keep track of them.

And with that, I’m off to Michigan tonight to experience this thing called autumn. I hear they have leaves that aren’t green. Amazing eh?

About the pumpkin ravioli… there is a fresh pasta company called Cafferata that makes it. Or it might be butternut squash, I’m not sure. Anyway, in San Francisco, their stuff (which is delicious) can be found in the frozen food section of smaller, gourmet grocery stores. My first thought was Bristol Farms, (not that I’ve been there yet, but based on what I’ve heard…), but I would also try Whole Foods.

Have a good trip!

I know that the restaurant, Il Pastaio, has pumpkin tortelloni. The best place to find out where to get pumpkin ravioli is to post it on the chowhound board: http://www.chowhound.com/california/boards/losangeles/losangeles.html

Bethany:
A year ago we had yummy, yummy pumpkin (or butternut squash) ravioli at Annie’s in NYC. Remember?? What a fantastic dinner…and what a fabulous time we all had.

This year we do a home-made Thanksgiving…we will have a great time.

Love you girls,

Have a great trip, and remember — without CHI, there is no Michigan.

What’s CHI?

Ari- i’m going to go buy it today! Thanks for suggestion although I know that was directed to Hil! I’m reading the new Tom Wolfe just now, it’s pretty good so far but I’m not very deep into it!
