You keep presenting these entertaining emails as an example of - what? That there are charlatans, dishonest people in the world? That these are the kind of guys a woman would expect to find on jdate?

What do your personal experience show? Maybe that for each email like this you get 100 other which are just regular, normative and even nice? OK, maybe only 10:1, because the messages have to be not only without any spelling mistakes, but interesting enough.

I’m not defending the scene on jdate, but how about some positive stories to start the day with, alongside the yummy cupcakes?

Luc, I um, don’t have any positive emails to share. But if I did, you’d be reading about the date.

Hilary, you’re getting way weirder emails than I do, the strangest I’ve gotten is from Republican women wanting to argue about my politics (who knew left wing moderate was so controversial?)

Hilary, seriously, if a gifted and sensitive gal like you doesn’t get any positive emails, then we’re all doomed, as we’re left to the mercy of unscrupulous individuals.
I suspect that the wit in your blog is only half the one in your jdate profile and that you keep the bags of + mails to yourself, not to provoke envy  among the less fortunate ones.

At least his name rhymes.

So he’s got that going for him.

Correct grammar and spelling are important to some people, to (many) others—not so much. A lack of good writing skills does not necessarily preclude someone from being interesting, funny and yes—smart.
