Weekend Wrap-Up (or, I Love My KitchenAid Mixer)

This weekend, I did not:

  • Clean.
  • Do laundry.
  • Run errands.
  • Go shopping.
  • Work on a project for my client.
  • Find a solution to my post category alphabetizing problem.

This weekend, I did:

  • Bake.
  • And bake.
  • And bake some more.

I made a bunch of desserts–mini cupcakes with buttercream frosting, chocolate chip cookies, and black and white cookies, all for Rosh Hashanah.

And in case you were worried, yes, I did do things besides bake–I slept and went to a dinner party (and brought cupcakes) where one of the guests renamed my mini cupcakes to elf cupcakes.

Now I must collapse in front of my TV.

Shana tova and a healthy new year!

That little mini cupcake with pink frosting caused drool on my keyboard. Worth all the not-getting-stuff-done, I’m sure.

Holy crap! Homemade black and white cookies! I can’t find find those around me, being one of the few Jews left in the deep south. I’m incredibly jealous.

They all look fabulous, Hilary. Life doesn’t get much better than a cupcake (esp. cream-filled).

I love my KitchenAid mixer, too!! I just got it as a birthday present. How on earth did I live w/out one for so long!

Those look delic!!! I’ve been wanting to make cupcakes so badly, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep myself from eating all of them.

Well, I brought the rejects into work and it’s not even 10:00 and the black and whites are already gone. The cupcakes seem to be a close second though.

What do “rejects” look like? Or taste like? How bad could they be? Jeez, your kitchen has so many home-baked goods that you’re like Martha Jewart.

Have a great time over Rosh Hashanah, and wishing you a happy and healthy!

How’d that recipe turn out for you? That buttercream recipe looks delic.
That is a quarter, right? Whoa–those are tiny. I like the name elf cupcakes–how about just cutting off the “cup” and naming them elf-cakes?

TCB, I ended up using my tried and true recipe–I wasn’t ready to experiment with Rosh Hashanah desserts. When I have time to bake for my guinea pigs, I’ll try your recipe and let ya know! Thank you though! p.s. Yep, that’s a quarter.
