Did you know there’s a new law in California effective today that states drivers must use their headlights when they turn on their windshield wipers in rain, fog or snow? And, by the way, it’s a $96 fine if you forget.

If you haven’t already done so, check out Superfluous Juxtaposition friend Pauly D’s newly redesigned Wordpress blog. (Wordpress–all the cool kids are using it.)

Who knew Wil-Dog from Ozomatli is Jewish? I had no clue.

Finally, I’m headed down to San Diego after work today to sit on the freeway with the rest of Los Angeles. Have a great weekend and enjoy the fireworks!

Fiscal year aside, interesting they chose to put the law in effect in the … summer.

We’ll all forget by the time there’s enough rain to click the wipers out of the intermittent mode. Does this law count if you’re just wiperwashing your windshield?

Enjoy San Diego - Happy 4th!

Wow, y’all are behind the times. We’ve had a law like that here in the Dirty South for years. Of course, like the speed limits, it’s roundly ignored.

The lights-wipers law is in effect in most of the states in the Union… at least, most of them where it actually rains. This is the first state I’ve lived in that didn’t have one.

Happy 4th, Hilary!

And thanks for the shout-out. As always you are a true friend whom I have never met, talked to on the phone, or even seen passing by in a car going 70 mph on the freeway.

Still, you’re good peeps.

But Pauly–we may have passed by each other in a car going 70 mph on the freeway. Ya never know. And we do IM regularly–that’s gotta count for something.

True, that.

Yes, our IM-marathons count for cookies, which I’m still waiting to receive in the mail. Seriously, like I said, you’re good peeps.

Now when it rains, the police can give you a ticket for not turning on the headlights with your windshield wipers?

Easy. Just don’t turn on the windshield wipers when it rains.

Fight authority!

Happy 4th, Hilary.

3 things…
1. Is it summer? Wouldn’t know it here, it’s been about 55 degrees, grey, drizzly and thunder storms for the last week. I’d need headlights if I only had a car!
2. free katie!!! i HATE tom cruize!
3. Pauly D, are you married???

Have a good 4th everyone, I’ll think of you while I’m at work!

Hi!! About the Ozomatli thing. I knew Wil was Jewish. Did you know he used to go by the name Willy. We were pretty good friends during our high school years. I went to the camp he went to. I can’t remember if we went the same summer or not. He’s a great guy and still friends with some of the people I hang out with from “back in the day”. That was a great story you linked to..THANKS.
