Question of the Day–Fear

Lately I’ve been finding myself saying If I have kids… rather than When I have kids… That makes me sad. And scared. And right now, it’s my biggest fear. What if, by the time I meet my beshert, I’m too old or unable to have children? I can’t imagine never having children.

What’s your biggest fear?

Getting cancer. It runs in my family.

First time commenter…

My biggest fear is actually already having cancer (which also runs in my family) and not knowing about it, and then finding out that I only have a week to live or something. It’s odd to actually put that in words.

Being alone for the rest of my life. Any talk about a theoretical hypothetical future husband or child is always prefaced with “G-d-willing, if…”

My greatest fear is my friends and family dying around me.

I’m not a daily reader but I do pop in frequently enough to notice it seems you keep doing the same thing and keep expecting a different result… duh. Maybe it’s time to expand your horizons a bit and give a gentlemanly gentile a chance.

Oh, I’ll have kids someday. But as I get older, trying to be hip to their trends will be an increasingly ridiculous goal.

“You whippersnappers! When I was your age, MTV actually had music, cellphones were big and expensive and the Republicans had an overwhelming stranglehold on this country. Well, okay the last one isn’t so different…”

Funny, my biggest fear is having children. Everytime I’m at the grocery store and some kid is throwing a temper tantrum over chocolate frosted sugar bombs, I seriously consider making an appointment to get fixed.

I totally gave up on my dream of having a child by the time I was 30. Okay, that’s it. Not happening. I was going through a divorce at the time.

I had my daughter when I was 33. You cannot know how things will change in the next three years.

It’s all good.

What everyone else said. Plus mimes.

Seriously, I totally did a post about my fears already…and I’m not even going back to it to reread now, because I don’t want to frighten myself!
