Etc.

A second date with Set-Up Guy is in the works. Cool, huh?

Next order of business, I spoke to the new Jdate guy (divorced w/child) on the phone for a few hours tonight. Great conversation. We’re meeting Thursday night for drinks and/or food and unlike Tentative Jdate Guy, he offered to drive out here (he’s an 818er) and said he’d look into places to go. I was hoping to offer up my fave–Cat and Fiddle–but he said he’d prefer somewhere with live music yet quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling. I’m stumped. Got any ideas? Think Hollywood-ish.

I too am stumped — if you’re looking in the Hollywood area, since I can come up with a few places on the Westside. The only place I can think of is Tokio, and that place doesn’t really have live music… they have karaoke. But excellent choice on the Cat & Fiddle, I love that place and go there often.

what about the dresden room in los feliz-the one in swingers, where marty and elayne sing-kind of jazzy funky. i guess if i am thinking about swingers, you could also go to the derby-i think they always have live music-but call first to check. some nights goldfingers (yucca and cahuenga) has live music, but i have never actually been, so i have no idea if you can hear someone over the music-so you would have to call and ask.

Eve I was thinking about the Dresden, but I wanted something closer to me. Has anyone been to the Lava Lounge lately? Can you hear over the music there?

Eve, every time I’ve been to the Derby, they have some loud band playing & it was impossible to hear the people I was with. The Dresden completely slipped my mind though — that’s a great place.
