Merry Halloween

Rock and Roll Ralphs was playing Christmas music in the store today. It’s not even Halloween yet. I’m sorry, but that’s just wrong.

I’m completely against pre-Thanksgiving Christmas festivities, so you can only imagine how I felt last year when the Century City Mall started playing Christmas music in the first week of October. How am I supposed to eat lunch while “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is making me nauseous?!

Oh, I feel your pain, Hil. Yours, too, Keith. The worst for me was last year, they started piping easy-listening music into the bathrooms at work, and the Xmas music started in October. And it. just. never. stopped. Fortunately, at some point in the last 10 months, they switched to classical, so hopefully this year it won’t happen again. Or else I’ll be subjected to instrumental arrangements of “The Little Drummer Boy” et al.

Don’t go to Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, or Gap for the next month and a half then - the new floorsets come out in two weeks.

I went in the Ralphs in Brea last Saturday and ended up mounting one of my highly ineffective political campaigns. See http://oemperor.blogspot.com/2004/10/
traditionalism-in-grocery-store-kroger.html for further details.
