Blogging Without Vicodin (For Now)

Surgery went well. I’m home relaxing and watching horrible TV while the pain medication administered via the IV is still doing it’s job (then comes the Vicodin). My mom, who is staying with me for a few days, went to the grocery store and bought enough food to feed a family of ten for at least a week. Kinda cool. My mom rocks.

I also received two bunches of gorgeous flowers and a secret delivery is coming from my sister. I’m thinking it’s Snookie’s Cookies, and if it is, ohhh yeah.

In other news, SpeedDating Guy sent me a text message saying he hopes my surgery went well. A text message? I’m thinking he has some weird aversion to the phone. Or third dates. Whatever, I had written him off on Saturday.

Hilary, feel better soon. Enjoy the DVDs and drugs and Mama Food.

Gotta say, SDG is now officially what I would deem a “schmo”.

I’m glad your surgery went well and best wishes for a speedy recovery. SDG is a shmuck, you would do better to hang out at home with some snookies (yummy!)

congratulations on breaking on through to ‘the other side!’

enjoy the vicodin — and your mom’s TLC, of course.

and if bethany really loved you, she would’ve sent deluscious instead of snookies. snookies has too many nuts in their cookies!!

P.S. Anybody who doesn’t get that reference will be officially deleted from my cool book.

Drew Drew Drew…I know you LOVE deluscious cookies, but I think Hilary would enjoy Snookies more. I also wanted my mom to finally see the great baskets that she has been sending me for every B-day since I have been in LA. I am off to find a B of A Bank in the rain here in NYC.

People, please, with all that Vicodin Hilary’s on, she won’t know the difference between Deluscious and Snookies anyway.

Sometimes you feel like a nut…

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Good luck on the recuperation, Hilary!

Hilary, refuah shlemah from the Jewiest Jew in all Manhattanland. I say blog on through the vicodin haze, and see if you can turn out a contemporary “Kubla Khan.”

Hope you’re on the mend and feeling better.

Huh- a text message? Jesus, when I was in the hospital in 6th grade, a guy who liked me managed to walk to my house to deliver a stuffed animal and this joker can’t even call you.

I’m sorry- I hope I don’t seem too negative or militant on this topic, but I hate to sit idly by when good, caring people aren’t treated the way they should be. And although I may not know you very well (except through your daily musings on your blog), it’s obvious you’re someone who deserves much better than a text message after a surgery!

You guys are all so sweet! Just wanted to say hi and thanks real quick since the Vicodin has worn off a bit and I can actually look at the computer for more than ten seconds without feeling dizzy. I would sure make a horrible druggie.

Wishing you a speedy recovery…oh, and SDG? I had one of those, only he was a setup, and it was emails and IMs instead of text messages. He also disappeared when I called him on it. (”So, am I ever going to see you again?” Apparently not.)

Bethany:

You ARE cheating on your Tivo. And I’m telling him, too.

Good thing you’re coming back to the West Coast for the holidays. Someone has to smack some sense into you…
